2.) Kuinka valitsit kennelnimesi ja mist\u00e4 se kertoo?<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Nevicata’s-kennelnimi juontaa alkunsa Lumiaisten saaresta Hauholta, jossa on kennelnimen perustajan Arja Ahosen kes\u00e4m\u00f6kki. Nevicata on italiaa ja tarkoittaa uutta, puhdasta vastasatanutta lunta.<\/p>\n

3.) Mist\u00e4 rakkaus bostoneihin alkoi?<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Olemme Arjan kanssa kasvattaneet kumpainenkin omalla kennelnimell\u00e4mme boksereita, pid\u00e4mme samantyyppisist\u00e4 koirista. Ajatus pitk\u00e4h\u00e4nt\u00e4isest\u00e4 bokserista oli meille molemmille vieras, sek\u00e4 fyysiset edellytykset ison koiran pitoon rajalliset. Pieni, luonnostaan pystykorvainen ja lyhyth\u00e4nt\u00e4inen veijari oli mahdollisuutena l\u00e4sn\u00e4 kauan ennenkuin bokserijengiss\u00e4 tuli ns. luonnollista poistumaa. Liki kymmenen vuotta katselin ja opiskelin rotua, kunnes Arjan ensimm\u00e4isest\u00e4 pentueesta kuuluisa Nevicata’s Indiana Jones vaihtoi kotia allergian vuoksi. Sill\u00e4 tiell\u00e4 ollaan, enk\u00e4 ole p\u00e4iv\u00e4\u00e4k\u00e4\u00e4n katunut!<\/p>\n

4.) Kauanko sinulla on ollut bostoneita?<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Olen seurannut rotua vuodesta -87 ja ensimm\u00e4inen oma bostoni tuli meille -98<\/p>\n

5.) Onko muita rotuja?<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Bokserin omistus- ja kasvatushistoriaa yli 33 vuotta ja 27 pentuetta, pienill\u00e4 pojillani on ollut my\u00f6s borderterrieri Zehard Sibylla.<\/p>\n

6.) Miten ja milloin p\u00e4\u00e4tit aloittaa kasvattamisen?<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Yhteisty\u00f6 Arjan kanssa oli alkanut jo boksereilla 90-luvun alussa, joten luontevaa oli jatkaa bostoneilla. Ydess\u00e4 ollaan tehty suunnitelmia, hoidettu pentuja, k\u00e4yty n\u00e4yttelyiss\u00e4 vuodesta 1998 asti bostoneiden kanssa.<\/p>\n

7.)  Montako pentuetta olet kasvattanut?<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Boksereita 27 pentuetta ja nyt on Nevicata’s-pentueita 43 ja pentuja niiss\u00e4 137!<\/p>\n

8.)Kuvaile ihannebostoni kuonosta h\u00e4nt\u00e4\u00e4n?<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Pid\u00e4n erityisesti bostonin py\u00f6reist\u00e4 linjoista: p\u00e4\u00e4, ilme ja yl\u00e4linja – pehmeit\u00e4, kaarevia muotoja. Sopusuhtainen kokonaisuus ilman kulmikkuuksia, minulle silm\u00e4t ovat sielun peili bostonissa.<\/p>\n

9.) Mik\u00e4 on mielest\u00e4si uroksen\/nartun ihannekoko?<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Narttu 7- 7,5kg, uros 8 – 8,5kg.<\/p>\n

10.) Mitk\u00e4 virheet luokittelet vakaviksi virheiksi?<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Rotutyypin puute, kulmikkuus, selk\u00e4linjan yli nouseva h\u00e4nt\u00e4, pitk\u00e4 & kapea kuono, vieras ilme, vaaleat\/siniset silm\u00e4t<\/p>\n

11.) Mik\u00e4 on ollut sinun paras yhdistelm\u00e4si?<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Nevicata’s Indiana Jones on jenkkinarttu KC’s Almost Illegal’n kanssa saanut aikaan kauniita pentuja(Nevicata’s T-, A- ja E-pentueet), samalle viivalle on ylt\u00e4nyt jenkkirakkauteni KC’s Rocket Man’n ja Nevicata’s Olivia Xanadun tyt\u00e4r Nevicata’s Dolly Parton – mahdotonta sanoa, kumpi yhdistelm\u00e4 olisi parempi…<\/p>\n

12.)  Miten sinulle tuli sopiva koira kasvatusty\u00f6si alkuun?<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Taivaan lahjana, todenn\u00e4k\u00f6isesti. Nevicata’s Indiana Jones ”Kurttu-Arttu” ei siis ollut etsim\u00e4ll\u00e4 etsitty jalostuskoira, vaan ajan saatossa herrasta kasvoi bostonkehien yksi kaikkien aikojen kauneimmista ja menestyneimmist\u00e4 koirista. Bostoneita syntyi viime vuosituhannen lopussa joitain kymmeni\u00e4 yksil\u00f6it\u00e4, joten hyv\u00e4\u00e4 rotutyyppi\u00e4 JA kokoa olevaa sopivaa narttua jouduttiin hakemaan todella kauan. Kurtun sisar  Nevicata’s Kim Basinger ”Wekki-Eevi ” k\u00e4vi aikanaan miehel\u00e4ss\u00e4 Ruotsissa, Saksassa ja amerikkalaisuroksella t\u00e4\u00e4ll\u00e4 kotimaassa, n\u00e4ist\u00e4 ja muutamista onnistuneista Amerikan tuonneista, on nykyiset Nevicata’s bostonit luotu.<\/p>\n

13.) Mik\u00e4 on sinun tavoitteesi ja ideologiasi kasvattamisessa?<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Nevicata’s kennelnimell\u00e4 pyrit\u00e4\u00e4n kaikin tavoin kasvattamaan rotum\u00e4\u00e4ritelm\u00e4n mukaisia, rotutyypillisi\u00e4, terveit\u00e4 ja iloisia bostoninterriereit\u00e4 ihmisille iloksi, riemuksi, perheenj\u00e4seniksi,sek\u00e4 kaveriksi moninaisiin koiramaisiin harrastuksiin.<\/p>\n

14.) Kuinka valitset sopivat yhdistelm\u00e4t?<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Olisi helppoa sanoa: Tiedolla<\/strong> ja Taidolla<\/strong>, mutta geenien keitoksesta ei kukaan etuk\u00e4teen tied\u00e4, mit\u00e4 saa aikaan.
\nTiedon ja taidon matkaan lis\u00e4\u00e4n Tunteen<\/strong> ja Rohkeuden<\/strong>, viimeisen\u00e4, vaan ei v\u00e4h\u00e4isimp\u00e4n\u00e4 tulee Toive<\/strong>. Toive siit\u00e4, ett\u00e4 on valinnut oikein.<\/p>\n

15.) Urasi huippuhetki?<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Huippuhetki\u00e4 ovat tavallisessa arjessa tekstiviesti, s\u00e4hk\u00f6posti, kirje tai kortti tyytyv\u00e4iselt\u00e4 ja onnelliselta Nevicata’s-tiimin koiranomistajalta. Mik\u00e4\u00e4n ei ole sit\u00e4 onnen tunnetta hienompaa. Huipputunnelmaa ovat my\u00f6s yhteiset Nevicata’s-tapaamiset ja yhteisty\u00f6 tiimin kanssa. 1.) Name, kennel<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Marjo Suosalo, Nevicata’s<\/p>\n

2.) How did you come up with the name of the kennel and what does it stand for?<\/strong><\/p>\n

– The name Nevicata’s originates from Arja Ahonen’s summer cottage on the Lumiainen island in Hauho. Nevicata is italian and it means freshly fallen snow.<\/p>\n

3.) How did the love for bostons begin?<\/strong><\/p>\n

– I and Arja Ahonen both bred boxers under our own kennel names and liked dogs of the same type. The idea of a long tail was very strange to us and the premises to breed large dogs were limited. Small dog with naturally erect carried ears and short tail was an option for a long time before our boxers gradually passed away. I studied the breed almost 10 years before the famous Nevicata’s Indiana Jones from Arja’s first litter moved in with me because of an allergy in his previous home. So, here I am now with no regrets!<\/p>\n

4.) For how long have you had bostons?<\/strong><\/p>\n

– I have observed over the breed since 1987 and I got my first own boston in 1998.<\/p>\n

5.) Any other breeds?<\/strong><\/p>\n

– I have over 33 years of history in both owning and breeding 27 litters of boxers. My sons had a borderterrier called Zehard Sibylla when they were little.<\/p>\n

6.) How and when did you decide to start breeding dogs?<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Cooperation with Arja Ahonen started in the early 90’s with boxers, so it was easy to continue with bostons. We have made plans, taken care of puppies and gone to dog shows with bostons since 1998.<\/p>\n

7.) How many litters have you bred?<\/strong><\/p>\n

– 27 litters of boxers and now 43 Nevicata’s litters with 137 puppies!<\/p>\n

8.) Describe an ideal boston from head to tail.<\/strong><\/p>\n

– I especially like the boston’s rounded lines: head, expression and the top-line \u2013 smooth, round shapes. Proportional body without angularities. For me, the eyes of the boston are the mirror of his\/her soul.<\/p>\n

9.) Your opinion on the optimal size of male\/bitch?<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Bitch 7-7,5 kg (15,4-16,6 lbs) Male 8-8,5kg (17,6-18,7 lbs)<\/p>\n

10.) What are the biggest flaws?<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Weak or missing type of breed, gay tail, long & narrow muzzle, weak impression, light colored or blue eyes.<\/p>\n

11.) Which combination has been your best?<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Nevicata’s Indiana Jones and the import bitch KC’s Almost Illegal from U.S.A. managed to get beautiful puppies. (Nevicata’s T-, A- and E-litters). My \u201damerican love-boy\u201d KC’s Rocket Man and Nevicata’s Olivia Xanadu with their daughter Nevicata’s Dolly Parton achieved as well. It’s impossible to tell which combination is better.<\/p>\n

12.) How did you get the proper dog to start breeding?<\/strong><\/p>\n

– As a gift from heaven, I guess. Nevicata’s Indiana Jones ”Kurttu-Arttu” was not seeked on purpose for breeding but as time passed by he developed into being one of the most beautiful and successful bostons in the show ring. A few dozen bostons were born at the end of the last millenium, so searching for a bitch of the right size and type was hard and took a long time. At the time\u201dKurttu’s\u201d sister Kim Basinger \u201dWekki-Eevi\u201d traveled to Sweden and Germany in seek of a \u201dboyfriend\u201d and met an american stud here in Finland. That offspring and a few successful imports from U.S.A. were the substrate of present Nevicata’s.<\/p>\n

13.) What is your goal and ideology as a breeder?<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Good type, breed standard dogs who are healthy and happy bostons for every family member to joy. Good companions to go in for the various hobbies in the dog world.<\/p>\n

14.) How do you choose suitable combinations?<\/strong><\/p>\n

– It would be easy to say: With Knowledge<\/strong> and Expertice, <\/strong>but when you\u00b4re mixing genes nobody can tell the outcome beforehand. Beside knowledge and expertice I would add Sense<\/strong> and Courage<\/strong>, and last, but not least comes Hope<\/strong>. The hope that the choice was right.<\/p>\n

15.) The highlights of your career?<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Basic everyday messages, e-mails, letters and postcards from happy and satisfied dog owners of the Nevicata’s team. Nothing can beat that! Nevicata’s meetings and cooperation with the team members are one of those moments too!
\nHighlights in the show ring have been the BIS-breeder’s group in Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4 & Kaivopuisto and the World Winner 2010 breeder’s group in Denmark. Success in the show ring is the result of hard work and seamless collaboration.
